    On the Duty of Civil Disobedience is Thoreau's most important political essays. It was first published in 1849. In the article, Thoreau argued that people should not be allowed to shrink their conscience or the government, and people have the obligation to avoid such acquiescence, prevent the government to turn them into the injustice actors.
