《海的女儿》是一个关于爱与理想的故事。生活在海底的人鱼公主一直向往着陆地上的世界和人类不灭的灵魂。在她15岁生日那天，她第一次来到海面，在暴风雨中救了一位溺水的王子，并深深地爱上了他。为了去到爱人身边，小人鱼向女巫求来药水，把自己变成了人类女孩的模样，却从此变成了哑巴，而且要每天忍受无尽的痛苦。然而，小人鱼虽然赢得了王子的青睐，却并没有成为他的新娘。在王子的新婚之夜，小人鱼放弃了生命，投人大海，化成了泡沫……

汉斯·克里斯蒂安·安徒生（1805-1875），20世纪丹麦著名的童话作家，是世界文学童话的代表人物之一，被誉为“世界儿童文学的太阳”代表作有《海的女儿》、《拇指姑娘》、《卖火柴的小女孩》、《丑小鸭》等

Hans Christian Andersen, often referred to in Scandinavia as H. C. Andersen (2 April 1805 – 4 August 1875), was a Danish author. Although a prolific writer of plays, travelogues, novels, and poems, Andersen is best remembered for his fairy tales.
