In the lifeless night, there is always a bright moon, accompanying me
through the rugged road ahead. —— inscription In the long river of
history, books, as messengers of civilization, stayed in the passing of
time. In the face of numerous books, I took out the Essay on Bacon
written by Francis Bacon, a famous British thinker, politician and
empiricist philosopher in the 17th century, and wandered in this world
full of philosophies. Reading in this dense text, one sentence made me
think deeply. As the saying goes, "showing respect for people in
the world is not a kind of slavery, but a kind of responsibility in
life." If we don't do this, how can people below us show respect
for us? "I used to be, whether I read from books that" Tao
Yuanming is not bent for five buckets of rice "or I was a maverick
hero in TV series, which deeply strengthened my disdain for this. In the
book, Bacon's character of constantly bowing his head for prosperity and
wealth is also something I can't approve of, but I can understand the
true meaning of "respect" only from this short sentence. Tao
Yuanming's failure to bow down for five buckets of rice is due to the
excessive corruption of officialdom, and the maverick heroes in TV
dramas become cold because of their too dangerous tasks. For us, these
are all non-existent problems. Greeting relatives and friends is to show
respect; Taking a heavy bag when parents go home is a sign of respect;
Meeting teachers on campus to say hello cordially is also an expression
of respect ... In the past, we may think that this is a bit
hypocritical, but these behaviors are essential, and it conveys your
respect for others and also gains respect from others.
