A Passion in the Desert is  a story about a French soldier  and a  leopard in the desert . The soldier escaped from the enemy  procced in the desert . He was dying and fainting  in a cave .When he woke up, he found a leopard which was  lying next to him with blood on its mouth.Luckily ,the leopard was full and did not want to harm him. The soldier wanted to kill it with his dagger, but then he changed his mind and decided to caress the female leopard with gentle and affectionate movements.  The leopard not noly got along well with him ，but also established feelings with him. However, the soldier still afraided and ran away while the leopard was asleep. But the leopard  caught him  up  and  rescued  him while the soldier had fallen into quicksand. So the soldier decided to live and die with her and never left her. Once the leopard gently bit his leg , thinking she was going to eat him, the soldier pierced the leopard in the neck with the dagger. The leopard looked at him without  annoyance. In the end , the soldier killed the leopard mistakenly. The soldier said "In tbe desert, you see, there is everyting and nothing .""It is God without mankind."

        In the desert , the leopard has trust and the feelings with the soldier by the communication. And it is the purest and most selfless emotion. On the contrast, human society is always full of suspicion and conflict with interest which brings unfortunate war to mankind.
