Reading problem

When you read a book you haven't read before, do you read the Chinese version first or the English version directly? Do you skim the whole book first or intensive reading it directly? These questions have been bothering me for a long time.

  I will read the English version first.Because I think the English version is purest,maybe the Chinese version shows the not the same meanings.

  When I read a book that I haven't read before，I will read Chinese version.Because it is easy and understanding for me to read it.

  Normally, I will read the English version first, during the reading time,I will spare no effort to understand the meaning,but if it is still difficult for me to understand it ,I will read the corresponding Chinese vision after reading the English version.

  For me,I will read the Chinese version or watch the film based on the book first,it help me to have a general command of this book,and then when I read the English version,I will be familiar with this book.

  If the story is interesting, I will read the English version directly.But when I read the Chinese version at first, I will be familiar with the story and easier to read.Before I read the whole book,usually I will skim the whole book to make sure I have a interest in it.
