  On his first proposal, while taking a walk in the swamp, he proposed to Jane at God's request. Jane expressed that her heart was silent, and she politely refused him. On their second proposal, they sat alone on the sofa in the living room. He sincerely proposed in the name of God, and she agreed first. However, Rochester's shout echoed in her mind, and she refused him again. Jane heard a distant voice calling out, "Jane! Jane! Jane!"
