  Listening to other man saying such words to the girl he loved, Raoul’s must feel shocked and sad right now. No one can endure other man’s showing love to the girl he loved, especially listening to it in person. However, Raoul is too shy to express his love to Christine (or maybe he is so gentle). In one hand, I show a little sympathy to the experience of Raoul, nevertheless, in other hand, I think Raoul was lack of initiative and can not hold the chance well. Therefore, Raoul lost the chance to express love to Christine first was reasonable.
