the racism actually comes from slavery, which means the legal ownership of slaves by the slave owners, including the sale of slaves. In fact, the beginning of the slavery was in seventeen century when there was a Slave Trade in the west. Gradually, the conflict between the South and the North for economic development occurred, which led to the civil War in the American history. The war ended with a victory for the North, and President Lincoln finally announced the abolition of slavery. However,  does the end of the war really mean the end of the racism? I’m afraid the answer is not and many real examples do still exist in our modern life instead of just in the novel or in the past. Let’s come to see some real examples. The first one was on August 9, 2016, Brown, an 18-year-old black man, was killed by a white police officer on duty. An investigation says Brown was shot six times. The second one is about a write policeman who knelt and killed a black man in 2020, which parked a mass protest. We can conclude that the racial discrimination never ends since its beginning. It must be a long and hard process for us and the society to change this situation and we everyone should do whatever we can to help improve it. To get to know more about it, I would like to recommend some television works, which tend to reflect the racism and try to rouse people’s awareness towards these racial discrimination. For example, the film The Great Debaters. Other related works are documentaries including I Am Not Your Negro and the 13th.
