    中国人的精神，是永远年轻的精神，不朽的民族精神。其中的不朽就是心灵与头脑的完美联合。为什么中华民族能够永葆年轻呢？答案在中华文明中。几千年之久的中华文明没有现代欧洲文明发展进程中争执不休的争斗，而且中国人对于宗教的渴求并没有西方人那么热切，换句话说，中国人没有宗教，取代宗教的，则是拥有一套完整哲学与伦理道德体系、关乎人类社会文明的综合体——儒家思想。儒家思想为什么能够取代宗教呢？宗教的产生来源于人们对未知世界的恐惧，人们希望宗教能够为他们驱除恐惧，尤其是平民。儒家思想恰恰具有如此的特性，能够为人们提供安全感与永恒感。其实在广义上而言，儒家思想也可以被称为宗教，但是它与西方宗教是不同的，它教导人们泛爱大众，其中的君权神授观念能够帮助统治者更有效地治理国家。另外作为一种广义而言的宗教，儒家思想强调一种荣誉感，即君子之道（西方的绅士法则），其中的信条——名分大义，是维系社会安定的重要基础。相比之下，现代社会往往用利益、武力、欺骗的手段来维持安定，而这样的安定往往是不能够持久的。
