To be，or not to be

To be, or not to be: that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them.

The old man and the sea wrote about an old fisherman fishing at sea, after 84 days, he has not caught a fish, everyone said he was bad luck,so after having waited until the 85th day, he decided to go to the deep sea that he had never been for fishing, because he wanted to prove his abilities and courage. When he was at the sea, the old man found a large Marlin fish,so he overcame all difficulties and struggled to get the harpoon into the marlin's heart. On the morning of the third day, on his way back, the old man was attacked by the sharks five times and he fought back these sharks with harpoons, oars and knives. When he returned to the port, the marlin was left with a huge white skeleton.

But none of these scars were fresh.They were as old as erosions in a fisherman ,a fishless desert. Everything about him was old except his eyes and they were the same color as the sea and were cheerful and undefeated. I read his poverty and desolation, and read his stubbornness and unwillingness by this sentence. At the same time, though he was old and weak, he still maintained his inherent confidence in life.but to me,he is not just an old fisherman, He is a thinker traveling in the ocean,talking to the ocean,communicating with the life. As it is mentioned in the book,It was considered a virtue not to talk unnecessarily at sea and the old man had always considered it so and respected it. But now he said his thoughts aloud many times since there was no one that they could annoy.he is not just fishing,he is enjoying his life as a fisherman.

 The book,a less than a hundred pages of work, but can allow generations to read the first reading. I'm from the simple, accurate and full of rich life scenes, into the old fisherman Santiago's life. In the process of fighting, he had an idea again and again in his heart: "man is not born to be defeated." He used to shout to inspire himself: "you can kill him as much as you can, but you can't beat him." However, ultimately, he failed. But his inner pride was undamaged. He was a heroic failure. He was a real hero, and his scar was a witness to his extraordinary courage. In the small shack elderly fall asleep. He was not disappointed. He was not defeated. He was ready to go to sea in his sleep. He dreamed of the lion.

After reading this novel, I found that the old man's story not only symbolizes the relationship between man and nature, but also symbolizes the unbreakable spirit of the whole human being. In reality, although he failed, but in the spirit, he is the winner, his tenacious spirit of fighting, showing the dignity of the man. Looking at all the life, who has not experienced the failure? Even those who succeed again.The key is that you dream of "Lion"? Are you going to "go to sea"? When you go to sea, you will have the hope of victory. I think this perilous life environment and this persevering attitude to life are the more attractive reasons for this work. Life is always an endless pursuit.

Finally, it is all right to catch a complete marlin or an empty skeleton of marlin, because it is enough for a person's life value to catch up with the marlin. Is it not a true winner that the energy of the life, the old man who has pursued and struggled for his ideal? There should be no regrets in this kind of life.
