Jane.Austin,British writer, tells a story about an arrogant man Darcy who from great family and with a great deal of wealth, and a humble, inferior woman, Elizabeth, who has a serious prejudice against Darcy, from meeting to knowing each other and goes to the  hall in the end.The works vividly reflect the life and social conditions of British townships under conservative and blocked conditions from the end of the 18th century to the beginning of the 19th century.

Pride and Prejudice has a very vivid opening line.“It is a true universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.”It attracted me to read. Then, using classical realism, the author describes the combination of four young men and women. Through the different treatment of the lifelong affairs of the five daughters of Bennet, she shows the different attitudes of girls from middle-class families in the township to the issue of marriage and love. It also expresses the author's own view of marriage.

The language of the story is like the wind passing through the bamboo forest. It brought me the cool water like a bamboo forest and the clear water like a spring, so that I can immerse themselves in it anytime, anywhere. There is also its humorous language. The author pays attention to humor and irony in the dialogue art. This artistic innovation has made her works have their own characteristics and played in Pride and Prejudice. As described in another fragment: Lady Catherine's carriage passed the door, and Pastor Collins's family rushed out to meet him. Elizabeth said: "Is that what happened? I thought the pigs broke into the garden. "Austin's humor needs to be chewed repeatedly. It is not a book that can make you laugh at the sight. You can only smile at the heart. Also,The characters of arrogance and prejudice are vivid and fascinating, leaving a deep impression on the reader. I like Elizabeth best. Her candour and her meekness and unyielding rebellious spirit are admirable. Her intelligence and sharp teeth have taught me that women are not vases, but perfect artworks with meaning and thinking. That delicate language, meticulous thinking, for me to open the curtain of the British pastoral life , inadvertently outlined a romantic and pure fairy tale, but also so close to life, impressive.

What have left a deep impression on me?I was impressed by the respect and observance of the law at that time because the entire story was carried out under the influence of the power of the distant house to inherit the property after the death of the Benet couple. The level of development of the rule of law. Also, what impresses me is equality. The title of "Pride and Prejudice" was created under the concept of equality. Darcy refused to dance with others at the social ball and made Elizabeth think that he was so arrogant that he had prejudice. To know and make friends, one must dance with others, change partners at any time, and enjoy oneself. Although this equality has its limitations, these should be the prototype of the concepts of freedom, equality, and the rule of law in European countries.

In addition, after having read whole book,I came back to the title, what I think the title wants to express is the first impression is Darcy's pride over  Elizabeth and Elizabeth's prejudice against Darcy had created a period of opposition between the two, but it had been shown that the incompatibility between the two things could be broken by the truth love.

This is not a unparalleled work. It has no more than 300 pages, less than 300,000 words, are not magnificent, nor are they profound. They are dwarfed by the novels such as "Reminiscent of the Water", which is more than 4,000 pages long and more than 3 million words long. Also the author Austin herself can not be compared with the literary giant. And it is not the best novel I have ever read, but it is the one I remember most.
