An excellent book should pay more attention to the reality rather than the ideal. Unlike other general romance novels,
do not show us the love with vigour and vitality, instead, it focuses on the most practical marital issues in the lives of little people.
Throughout the book, nobody’s love is not related to marriage, which is exactly the reflection of Austin’s personality. Austin’s novels seem not to be fantasy divorced from the reality, characters in her novels fall in love for the purpose of marriage, and to shape family which they can depend on. For instance, it is a typical example that Charlotte chose to compromise with age.
This book provides us with a world full of sophistication, making us feel so close to the content. Even if the ending is a satisfying finale, it still retains the sense of reality.
