Unfinished

An Unfinished  Story is a short story by O. Henry. It describes a poor woman who earns only five dollars a week. Her complex inner world is truly and movingly revealed. There is no end to irony. Though the poor girl had not accepted the invitation for the time being, she would have accepted it -- for this time her mind had strengthened at the last moment. But temptation was everywhere for a simple girl with so little material life, and one day she would give in to it.
