The Little Prince
When you looking up into the sky, can you see that there is a planet with a rose and a little prince? The writer of the Little Prince said that:” It’s a fairy tale for adults.” As a reader, I’m willing to travel with our innocent little prince to see the ridiculous things deep inside our humanity and cherish the pure love in our heart.
The story is about a prince living on the planet B-612, who went on a long trip to many planets, living his beloved rose alone on his planet. Finally, with the help of a fox and the pilot, he understood the true meaning of love and back to his planet. Though this book is just considered as a fairy tale, no one can deny that it reveals the absurdness in the adults’ society and speaks highly of children’s innocent. Everyone in the book makes me think a lot.
Our little prince, a naïve child, represents the kind, love and innocent inside our heart. From his view, we met the beautiful but vainglorious rose. The beautiful rose was in love with the little prince, but her vanity became a barrier between her and her little prince. Although the little prince was far away from his rose, he missed her every second. Their pure ,beautiful but disturbing relationship reflects the complexity and beauty of the true love.
Our friend fox is a wise, kind animal, who soon became the little prince’s friend and helped him understand the true meaning of love. “It’s the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important”, the fox said to the little prince. Whether the things we possess are good doesn’t matters, it’s our contribution that makes our beloved one special and meaningful. When we are complaining that the world isn’t fair to us, it’s better to think about what have we done for the world. The fox let the little prince to tame him, but the little prince was tamed as well. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed. “If you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world……” The long-lasting relationship is just a process that the two tame each other and take responsibility for the other. The fox’s wisdom, for me, is a treasure I should keep in mind and cherish forever. After all, it is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential invisible to the eyes.
Our story teller, the unfortunate pilot, also tell us that the innocence of children is the most valuable thing in the world, though which is always neglected by the adults. If we only see the hat, how many wonderful things will we miss in our life？The lonely king who governs nothing, the tippler who drinks to forget his shame, the “rich” businessman who counts the stairs never belong to him…… Please leave these hypocrisy behind and enjoy the splendid world with a young heart.
