Les Miserables

It costed me several days to finish reading the novel Les Miserables,which is one of the most famous novels in the Frech literature as well as a piece of representative work of Victor Hugo. The story of Jean Valjean is impressive,however,today I expect to discuss about the one who completely changed Jean Valjean-M.Charles-Francois-Bienien Myriel.Myriel was an old man of about 75 yeas of age.He took down all the iron locks so that anyone who was in need could easily get in.When Jean Valjean was caught after stealing the silver from Myriel,instead of telling the truth,Myriel lied that he presented the silver to Jean Valjean.Jean Valjean's conscience was completely aroused by Myriel and he started to do good things. Myriel was a perfect character in this novel.He was kind and generous."Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see"(Mark Twain).Myriel showed what real kindness is through his warm and light acts. I think the reason for which Les Miserables is famous around the world is that it shows how powerful the faith is and it teaches ordinary people to be good.
