The Book Review

The Little Prince is written by the French writer, Antoine de Saint-Exupery who was a real writer and pilot. However, this great writer was lost after a flying task in 1944.

   This story is a tale for both adult and children. It is a story of a pilot who crashes into a desert and makes an acquaintance of the little prince. This little boy is a traveler from a tiny planet called B-612. After he is hurt by a lovely rose, he left his planet and began to his travel. He travelled for five planet and met different adults who are strange in some aspects. In his seventh journey, he finally came to the earth and have a long-time talk with the narrator. At last the little prince came back to his planet (or die).

This book wants to use a cute and pretty language style to state a tragedy. The author uses the fairy-tale language style and character image to illustrate a tragedy between the different value of adult and children. Also, it uses lots of cute image like flowers, king, the businessman to compare to some bad characteristics like conceited and so on. It only uses the perspectives of children to state some fairy tales but many adults think they are just the strange people who appears in the article. I think this technique is fabulous and it is the reason why this book can be remembered for many years. It does not condemn the bad disposition or pursuit directly but only imply their vicious behavior.

Talking to the article intention, the author wants to use the little prince confusion to reflect the emptiness, blindness, foolishness and rigid dogma of adults. In the real-life, for most of time, is the same. Almost everyone like us, at our youth, the adult often did some strange things we do not understand like seeking for money or official position. For getting those they need to expand a lot but at that time we cannot understand why they are eager for those boring things. We just care about our toys our good friends. But as I grow older gradually, I probably think there are no exactly right or not in these two stages of every people. As a child, what we should do is to appreciate this world like the little prince. We need to seek for the niceness of the life. However, when we get older, we need to protect our children. It is the time when they will face the wonderful world but at the same time we need to create an environment for them. Thus, we have to face the ugly and dirty thing in the world.

Above it is what I think after reading this story. It may be a little bit far away from the original article intention but I think sometimes it will make sense. I hope every children can have a curiosity like the little prince and every adult can protect their children far away from the ugly reality.
