We are not outsiders

刘钰畅
When I finished reading this book, the domestic epidemic was just basically over.
We are not outsiders, not now, not even in the future.
Camus's masterpiece describes the whole process of a plague in the 1940s in Oran, Algeria. In fact, there was no plague at that time and place. However, Camus's accurate description of plague makes it hard for us to believe that it is a fable novel.
At first, people couldn't believe it and the government officials didn't pay attention to it. Later, the plague spread everywhere.,there were countless rumors.,the medical workers went all out. And finally the plague was recovered and the city returned to prosperity. Is this similar to COVID-19 that we are experiencing? Sad but ironic.
The only way to fight the plague: there is no heroism, everyone is an ordinary rebel.
When this kind of disaster comes, as each individual, what we need is a sense of responsibility and the most real sense of justice, just like Dr. Rieux and others in the novel.
As Camus said at the end of the article: Tell us from facts what we have learned from disasters, there are more things worthy of appreciation in our hearts than we should spurn.
