How We Survived
In this book, it tells a story about a plague happened in Oran. At first, people just ignored the weird scene in the city, but they soon became panic and nervous. People even went a little crazy when the horrible plague broke out on a large scale. During the plague, we can deeply feel human’s selfishness, desire for survival. What’s more, we can see medical care personnel’s selfless contribution for the public. It is because of their dedication that bring us beautiful life. As a result, I suppose we should show our respect for them.
Besides, from the plague, we should learn something. Just like what I have said in the beginning, when lots of mice showed up abnormally, the citizens were not alert enough. It reminds me of an old saying, born in sorrow, dies in ease. Thus, when the plague broke out finally, they were at a loss. They did not know what had happened, nor did they know what they ought to do to deal with the serious illness. We are supposed to make good preparation in advance, not only in medical area but also in other aspects. Always remember that, Chance favors a prepared mind.
Last but not least, in the story, we know that it was because of thousands of people’s struggle that get the final victory. The assist of one person is tiny, only when people gather together can we make huge changes. One cannot separate from the group, we human live like a big family and that is how we survived.
