What is love？

The first time I read this book，I was in the middle school. At that time，I did't completely understand it. Till now，I have got some different feelings and thoughts. Heathcliff，an unreal character who is born for love，crazy for love，die for love. To him，Catherine is all his faith. With Catherine，hell is heaven；or heaven can be hell. But he is real on the other hand. All his crazy love is from a boy who has never grown up. He is crude，arbitrary，capricious and inhuman. He is stuck in his own world. I would rather view him as an innocent poor man. He can‘t understand why his love marries to a man for family reasons. In his world，love and hatred are all ultimate and pure. If he loves someone，he will try everything to get her；If he hates a person or something，he will destroy it no matter what will cost him. He can‘t reach a balance. Of course it is horrible. It is crazy. But it is also lamentable and pitiable. I can’t exactly define his such emotion as love or not. His “love” confused me.
