Can't be defeated
~
The book of the old man and the sea is
short but
great. This book tells the story of a man fighting against fishes.
The
old man, Santiago, fight against fierce fishes all the
time, although his
weapons have broken, he has been exhausted
and even his left hand is cramped. He
gets a big fish, but it
is eaten by few sharks, when he leaves. The book is
delicate in
description. Some verbs and psychological descriptions
describe
Santiago vividly, which show us a tough man who is old
but strong and hopeful. Although
there is no gorgeous
rhetoric, no intentional rendering and generalization in
this
book, it can incisively depict the inner world of the characters
and
deeply attract us. If you can walk into Santiago's inner
world, you will find
his charm. In life, we may encounter all
kinds of difficulties, but I hope we
can think of Santiago and
this sentence - A man can be destroyed but not
defeated.
