I recently finished reading Nightingale and The Rose, and the story goes
like this: A young student wandering under a large oak tree was
painfully telling himself how much he needed a red rose to dance with
his beloved daughter, the professor. But in the cold winter, he could
not find such a rose, so he could not give her what she wanted. Just
when he was in despair, the nightingale in the tree heard his cry. She
thought that the young man was a true lover and that he really
understood love, so she decided to help him. Nightingale untold
hardships to find the rose tree by the red rose, but the first and
second encounter is white rose and yellow rose trees, the red rose tree
out of the window to find students for the third time, but the red rose
tree told it, winter is freezing its blood vessels, frost and snow have
buds are destroying it, if you want a red rose, need to sing all night
to build, and use it in the blood to dyed red, and play dead for a rose.
It was a great price to pay, but the nightingale thought that love was
better than life. "Love is a wonderful thing, more precious than an
emerald, more rare than an opal. Pearls and pomegranates are not to be
exchanged for; they are not to be bought in the markets, nor from the
merchants, nor weighed in gold." So it resolutely chose to
sacrifice itself. All night long, he sang without stopping. He put his
chest against the thorn and bit by bit stabbed into his heart. With his
own blood, he made a rose, a symbol of true love. When the young student
got up in the morning and found the red rose, he immediately picked it
and ran to the professor's daughter, without thinking about its origin.
But the girl refused, saying that the roses did not go with her dress,
and that the prince's son had given her precious jewels, and that jewels
were worth more than flowers. The young man was so angry that he threw
the rose into the street. It fell into the gutter, and a coach ran over
it. While he was talking about what a stupid thing love is, he went back
to his room, picked up the dusty book, and began to read. Length is not
long, the story content is understandable, but it was a profound
implication from the end of "the nightingale and the rose" we
can see the nightingale sacrifice, not for true love, this kind of the
seeds of love itself is a tragedy, like the rose said: "with winter
freezing my leaves, are destroying my bud, wind blew off my branches and
I no more roses this year". Another example is the young student
heart miss beloved girl, because of the girl's words to try their best
to do a fundamentally impossible thing, even get the nightingale's help,
find the red rose was finally rejected by the girl. Behind these events,
in fact, the seeds of tragedy have already.
