One of the highlights of the book is the success of characterization. Every character in the novel is vivid and vivid. Everyone's personality characteristics are different, but they all have one thing in common, that is, "loneliness". Even if they face the plague together, they are still lonely individuals. This is a good interpretation of the existentialist point of view: the world is absurd, the reality itself is not recognizable, human existence is irrational, life is lonely, there is no meaning to live. At the same time, the most moving part of this book is that it positively praised the dedication of Dr. rieuwei.
