Pip, the hero of the novel, seems to be sitting next to me and told me
about the ups and downs of his life. Pip was an orphan, brought up by
her sister and his brother-in-law, Joe. Since he went to the home of a
rich woman, his mind and fate have quietly changed, but the unexpected
good fortune also let him dream come true——to become a gentleman. It
turned out that all this was arranged by a prisoner whom Pip had saved
as a child. The prisoner was later sent abroad, and made his fortune and
sent the money back to England for Pip. When Pip knew his patroness, his
dream was broken. As a well-educated man, he wouldn’t accept a
prisoner's fortune. As Pip's plan to help the prisoner escape from
England fails, the patron is sentenced to death. Pip, too, fell from the
sky, with nothing and debts. From the poor boy to the gentleman, to lose
everything to become poor. The attitude of the people around him is
changing rapidly, only honest Joe's love for him never changed. The
author praises the true love in human nature, as opposed criticize those
who are mercenary. Be grateful is the legacy of this novel. While
struggling for wealth and social status, do not forget your relatives
and friends, to know how to be grateful to them. Perhaps, when you lost
everything and back to the far point, only them can offer help and care.
Heaven is fair to everyone, and Pip lived well in his last days by hard
work. When I knew that the ending would be a happy one, I can't help
marveling at the wonder of life. Finally, I would like to thank the
author Dickens for giving us such a wonderful and inspiring feast of spirit.
