The Pupil
HOPE
The Pupil "The Pupil" is about the tragedy of a penniless
college student and an 11-year-old elementary school student. Morgan is
a sensitive and loving boy. His family worships money, status and power.
And he didn't fit in with the rest of the family. His parents used
Morgan as a comparison tool. In order to survive, pemberton, a college
student, chose to tutor Morgan, a primary school student. After spending
some time with Pemberton, Morgan felt a warmth he had never had. Then he
decided to run away with Pemberton. He wanted to live with Pemberton
forever, but he failed because of financial problems. At the end of the
story, Morgan becomes the victim of his parents. The tragic ending of
the novel is both classic and ironic. By describing the tragedy between
Morgan and Pemberton, the author shows the reader the social atmosphere
of the time. It was a time of money, status and power. In such a social
environment, children do not receive the care they deserve. Led to
countless tragedies like Morgan's. Through Morgan's example, the author
warns us that we should let our children grow up in a healthy and caring
environment and educate them properly. As adults, we should set an
example, avoid following suit, and resist the unhealthy atmosphere.
