Wuthering Heights is not a book for discussion; it is a book for reading. It is easy to find fault with it, it is very imperfect, but it has a power that only a few novelists can give you. Few novels have so doggedly entwined the pain, infatuation and cruelty of love, and depicted it with such startling power. From the writer's point of view, uniqueness is the most important, if a work is not perfect, but it is unique, then it is a good work. Wuthering Heights is unique, its dark winds suffocating, and for a long time before and since, no work, even to this day, has focused on the emotions of people, putting their lives aside, their souls restless day and night for those they love.
