Pride and Prejudice

Elizabeth's mother was a snobbish and selfish person. She hoped to change the poverty of the family by marrying her daughter to a rich and powerful family. So when she heard that a rich bachelor was coming next door, she couldn't wait to go to their ball. At the ball, she exaggerates to introduce her five daughters, which makes Darcy, who was originally attracted to Elizabeth, flash a trace of hesitation.
