Robinson
平平无奇
Robinson, a legendary character, was born in a merchant family, but he
was eager to go to sea and take risks regardless of his parents'
opposition. At the beginning of the book, he resolutely set foot on a
sea ship for many times and sailed across the Atlantic and Pacific
Oceans, experiencing numerous dangerous situations and the life of
farmers, slaves and sailors. Defoe's depiction of him as suffering and
vicissitudes is an exquisite opening. It is because of this life of
insecurity and oppression that Robinson is able to master a wealth of
life experience and get rid of the playboy.
