reaction to Dublin

Joyce once said that the purpose of Dubliners is to write a chapter for the moral and spiritual history of our country.But I think the mental state of Dubliners revealed by Joyce's keen observation can also be said to be the mental state of all human beings ,especially those in modern society.For example,the fact of the decline of existing in Dublin,but also a concomitant phenomenon in the process of the modernization of the whole world and the secularization of human thought .Isn't the employee insulted by the boss in a little cloud a miniature of the people oppressed by the captial in the modern capitailist society?There is also the painful event ,the thought of the intellectual who keeps his own independence,which can be seen in the minds of all intellectuals of his own ,In a word, Joyce,who grew up in Dublin,undoubtedly has traces of the influence of the surrounding environment in his works.but we must not take Dublins as a regional novel.Reading from a human-oriented perspective will undoubtedly bring us,greater enlightenment
