A Cup of Tea

A Cup of Tea tells the story of a lady who meets a beggar on the way to shopping. It suddenly occurs to her that she wants to bring the beggar home for a good living out of whim. But after hearing her husband praise the beauty of the beggar she resolutely sent her away. Because of Mansfield's excellent writing the image of a vain and hypocritical lady jumped stand out markedly immediately.

With the help of detail deion Mansfield introduces us Rosemary: When she meets the beggar in the street her kindness is not out of kindness but novelty; When she’s shopping in the florist’s she doesn’t not notice that the poor girl was exhausted by her call; She always wears gloves to avoid touching others forming a barrier between the poor and the rich; When she takes the beggar home she throws her clothes on the ground casually. Had it not been for the beggar’s sob Rosemary would never remember to provide her food; As soon as she hears her husband's praise for her beggar's appearance she immediately drives the beggar away. At first she decides to send the beggar away with five one-pound bills but she then takes away two of them. After that she come to her husband to please him as if nothing has happened...
