Life and Death
"I don't want to panic the world. I want to know what happened, accept it, enter a peaceful state of mind, and then leave." There are many life mottos that Morrie said in the book " Tuesdays with Morrie", which are worth cherishing, and this sentence impressed me the most. When I see the sentence, it seems like that Professor Morrie was right in front of me, and I was the student attending the class. He showed me a kind of calmness in life and taught me with a gentle tone.
In life, it is inevitable to face some setbacks. Keeping calmly is principal, even if it is death. No one can deny the inevitability of death, just as no one can deny that the earth is round. Life includes birth and death. Birth is the beginning and death is the end. The only thing we have to do in the face of death is to "accept it". Professor Morrie told students that there was an important philosophy to remember: If you refuse aging and sickness, one will lose happiness. Since aging and sickness always come, if you are afraid of it, but you can't refuse it, will there be happiness? There is no doubt to paint our lives with sadness by ourselves if we have no pleasure. In the world, there are some people dying at all times, which is even unlike illnesses that have antecedents and consequences. Since death must come, why to evade from fear and fall into the jail made by yourself? Everyone will die some day. Before dying, maybe no one could die as meaningful and selfless as Morrie. I think all people who have read this book will be influenced by Morrie in their lifetime. His equanimity, his innocence, his thinking, his fearlessness. Since you are born, you are as gorgeous as summer flowers; when you die lightly, you are as the tranquil beauty of autumn leaves!
Morrie used the rest of his life to teach us a life lesson about how to make peace with life. Nowadays, it is widespread to be busy and competitive, which fosters a sense of anxiety. The fast pace of live drives people who are at loss. Whereas, it does not help people seek out their life direction or achieve their dreams but make them only pursue fame and money. Actually, money is not so important. If the money we have is able to support our living, it’s enough. Wanting much more money than you need usually makes one confused and likely to lose something more meaningful, such as family, friend, your beloved ones and a satisfied life. Only by understanding those above will a male or a female resists the temptation of money or status and turns to those things which deserve to cherish. It can be really pathetic when one desires to cherish something that used to be ignored but the time leaving for him or her is limited. Never make it too late to cherish things deep into our heart. Time will never flash back and we won’t have the chance to live for a second time.
That is all my thinking after reading the novel.
