In this novel, the author tells the story of Bennett's five daughters' different attitudes towards marriage. It also reflect the author's own view of marriage: it is wrong to marry for money and status, and it would be foolish to get married without taking them into account. The author is not only against marriage for money, but also against taking marriage as a game. She emphasized the importance of an ideal marriage, and took the relationship of both men and women as the cornerstone of an ideal marriage.
Elizabeth is a smart, resourceful, courageous, far-sighted young lady, she has a strong self-esteem, and good at thinking. It is because of this quality that she has independent opinions on the issue of love, and prompted her and Darcy to form a happy family. The story of Elizabeth also tells us that we should be ourselves no matter what time we are. We do not need to cater to others intentionally like others. It is the most important to be ourselves and attract others by virtue of our own qualities and excellent places. The author also writes about the marriages of several other sisters of Elizabeth, it is used to contrast with Elizabeth's ideal marriage. For example, although Charlotte and Collins lived a comfortable material life after marriage, there was no love between them. This kind of marriage was actually a social tragedy under the gorgeous cloak.
The author dramatizes some scenes in the novel to achieve a strong ironic effect. For example, Lydia's justifiable but ridiculous language makes the irony of the text more intense and shows Lydia's vanity incisively and vividly.
