The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is the sequel of the Adventures of Tom Sawyer. In the process of creation, Mark Twain gave up once, and later picked up the pen, the work was published. In the United States around 1850 - the period described in the book - the most serious problems were slavery and racial discrimination, which were both widespread and rampant in the southern states. Mark Twain showed a fighting attitude towards all these unreasonable phenomena, and gave warm sympathy and support to the persecuted black people.According to Henry Smith, the book not only shows the imagination that was hard to achieve before, but also uses local proverbs, which provides a new source of pleasure and energy for American prose and poetry in the 20th century Hemingway, an American writer, said that all modern American literature is derived from "Huck Finn" and praised it as "our best work".The protagonist of the story, Huckleberry Finn, is a clever, kind and brave white boy.In order to pursue a free life,he fled to the Mississippi River .On his way to escape, he met Jim, a black slave.Jim is an industrious guileless, warmhearted, loyal black slaves, he in order to escape the fate of being sold by the master again, from the master's home to escape.From then on, the two men began to live on the run and experienced various adventures. Along the way, they met two swindlers named king and Duke. They pretended to be Wilkes and his brother William, trying to cheat their brother Peter's legacy. Huck exposed their lies and started another adventure. Huckleberry went through all kinds of hardships for Jim's freedom, and finally learned that Jim's master had liberated him in his will.The novel praises Huckleberry's wit and kindness, condemns the hypocrisy of religion and the ignorance of believers, and creates a dignified image of a black slave. The work is a masterpiece for the lack of words to describe how entirely wonderful it is.The book was really able to portray the idea of childhood innocence and foolishness in the book especially the end.though the whole trip was just a game,I thought that this book was really an eye opener for people who may think that life is not worth living or maybe depressed.Because,as you can see,Huck was a young boy who had an alcoholic father who beat him all the time, even kidnapped him after he was adopted by other people.yet he is just a boy. These are places where the author's pessimism can be expressed. Not only I was deeply impressed by the character Huck in the story, but also I was also amazed by Mark Twain's depiction of childhood is so real and vivid, there are some funny childhood behavior I have long forgotten, but through reading this book, it reminds me that I used to be like this. As we all know, Mark Twain is a man with head of a sage and the heart of a boy. I especially remember a sentence in the book:’if you are anywhere where it won't do for you to scratch, why you will itch all over in upward of a thousand places’.That's exactly what I thought when I was a kid!Jim is full of sacrifice and compassionate. In the river, he took care of Huck, as much as possible to prevent the child from suffering; When Tom was shot and wounded, he left in the dangerous area to help the doctor with the child, regardless of his own safety.Through Jim's depictions of a series of noble acts of devotion, the work tells us that blacks are not only as good as whites in character, but in many ways maybe better than whites . Besides,I think the most classic scene is :Huck picks up the denunciation letter and says, "All right, then, go to hell," before tearing it off. In the process of our growth,we will meet all kinds of challenges, all kinds of difficulties,as long as the firm belief , dare to think, dare to do,do not escape.The language of the story is humorous.Even if it's just for the memory of precious childhood, this book is worth reading.
