Reading Report

This semester, our teacher introduced us to reading some books. I read Local China. This book is a book published by Fei Xiaotong in 2005. The Local China here is not a sketch of a special Chinese society, but a special system contained in a specific Chinese grass-roots traditional society, which dominates all aspects of social life.

Traditional China is a society with land as the basic means of production. Therefore, the daily speech and behavior of Chinese farmers who make a living can not help but have a variety of ' local flavor '. Local society emphasizes a static and solid life order. In this order, the motive force of people's obedience to obey is the tradition accumulated through years of repeated training. Tradition may be the root of the rule of rites society.

This book also studies the issues of the difference between men and women, politics, and the separation of names and reality. It can be said that this book takes local China as the basic argument, and then it deeply discusses the social structure and national characteristics of traditional China.

In a word, I think this book is very realistic, analyzes Chinese society very clearly, and can better understand the reasons for China's social development. It is worth reading.
