General education
General education teaches you how to think, and you will understand that thinking has its own norms, order structure and rules of use. Many disciplines help students form the habit of orderly thinking in different ways. Serious study of computer programming or mathematics or music or logic or poetry or any discipline will inevitably help you form your knowledge structure and develop your thoughts, and form the habit of systematic thinking and rational analysis. Once you develop a good habit of thinking, you will be competent for every job and, more importantly, your life will be happier. You may never make a program or write a poem after a programming or poetry class, but you may become a better husband or wife, priest, businessman and psychologist because you carry with you systematic solutions, hierarchical programs and rational knowledge that can be applied to any action.
