A Reading Report on A Christmas Carol

The main character of a Christmas carol is Scrooge,who is mean and selfish.On Christmas Eve,the ghost of his hired partner,Marley,appears and tells Scrooge how selfish he was in life and how regretful he was in death.In order to avoid a repeat of old friends,there will be three Christmas tree ghosts to visit respectively in the past、present and future. The ghosts takes Scrooge to the different scenes in these three period.After seeing these,with tears rolling down his face and excitement,Scrooge suddenly realizes the true meaning of life and becomes a benevolent person overnight.He makes donations to charities generously which he had turned down before.He brings the clerk an oversized turkey,attends his Christmas dinner and decides to give him a raise. Through the change of the protagonist,I feel that we should be selfless and always be warm-hearted.Whenever someone is in trouble,we should give a helping hand compassionately,instead of being rigid and indifferent.
