This book is a study of rural china written by Fei Xiaotong. It is also one of the important representative works on traditional culture and social structure theory of Chinese rural society. Many points of view reconstruct my thought, such as Chinese people are egoistic, western people are selfless.
In my previous opinion, Chinese people were very giving and selfless, but the different kinds of "benevolence" and self-demands mentioned in the book made me believe that Chinese people are also complex.
