Book Review

Emily Bronte, an English woman writer,wrote this book in the 19th century. The book takes a third person perspective.It describes that Heathcliff, an abandoned Gypsy, went out to get rich after being adopted by the old owner of the villa. After coming back, the story of revenge against the landlord Linton and his children who married his girlfriend Catherine. This book really impresses me.It covers with terror and mystery,which makes me read it all day.It contains complex interpersonal relationships. I think Catherine is foolish,because she don’t what she is her truly love,which make two men who love her so painful and indirectly lead to a series of tragedies. She is my most hated character,who is vanity and blind self-confidence. The main character,Heathcliff,is a man who is pitiful and evil.He makes the tragedies which makes all the people around him miserable because of his suffering.He lives with revenge,the same as Chillingworth in The Scarlet Letter and Havisham in Great Expectations.They are unhappy and painful. After reading this book, I think we really have to be generous and merciful to the people around us.To forgive others is to redeem yourself.Living with revenge is so hard.
