Robinson Crusoe
Robinson Crusoe gave up the privilege of being a third son in a rich merchant’s house and wanted to go sailing many times behind his parents’backs. When Robinson Crusoe was 19, he boarded a ship that was going out to sea and was hit by a storm. All but Robinson Crusoe drowned. He awoke to find himself on the beach of a small island. He spent another day observing his desolate “Kingdom”and found a place where wild animals could build their home. He found wheat, so that he would not starve to death, and found the wreck of the ship, in which were found guns, gunpowder, bread, and some paper, ink, and gold coins. When he lived for sixteen years, he found wildlings on his island. To keep out the wildlings, he divided the sheep pens. Six years later, he saw the savages eating people. A few days later, two unfortunate men were taken to the island by the savages. When the savages ate the first man, the second man ran away, robinson Crusoe saved the man’s life and named him Friday. At first Robinson Crusoe separated the savages he had saved, and at first Robinson Crusoe did not dare to sleep, for fear that the savages would come and kill him. He and the wildlings became friends and taught him how to shoot. In twenty-eight, a ship was stranded on the island because most of its crew had defected, ready to kill the captain. Robinson Crusoe and Friday used their wits to save the captain and his ship. Then Robinson Crusoe and Friday boarded the ship that would take them back to civilization, and Robinson Crusoe returned to where he had come from.
In real life, it’s like a big net, with sweet, bitter and sour. When people come to a sweet place, they selfishly want to spend the rest of their lives in a sweet place; when they come to a bitter place, they want to get out of this godforsaken place; when they come to a sour place, will cry out for acid, but will not escape the acid torture.
It’s true that when things get tough, we need to be as confident as Robinson Crusoe to survive.
