Pride and Prejudice is a novel written by Jane Austen, a British female novelist. The novel tells the daughter of Bennet, a little squire. Mrs. Bennet worries about finding a satisfactory husband for her daughters all day. Her second daughter Elizabeth met Darcy at the ball, but she heard that Mr. Darcy is arrogant and has always rejected him, She had a prejudice against him. After some twists and turns, Elizabeth found that she had wronged Darcy, so she put down her prejudice against Mr. Darcy, and Darcy also abandoned his arrogance. Finally, they had a lover and got married.

For this book, I like the heroine Elizabeth very much. She has strong self-esteem and knows self-respect. She is like an independent woman in today's era. For example, at the ball when she first met Darcy, Darcy told Bentley that she is "tolerant" but not enough to arouse his interest. When Elizabeth heard this, she decided to ignore the arrogant guy and began to have a prejudice against Darcy. Elizabeth is a smart, resourceful, far sighted, courageous and good at thinking, which makes her have her own observation and thinking and her own unique views on love. Besides Darcy, his family is rich and knowledgeable, but he was also born in a rich family from childhood. The favorable environment has cultivated his good breeding, elegant temperament and arrogant character. Therefore, some of his behaviors made people feel arrogant, like looking down on others, which led to Elizabeth's prejudice against him.

"Arrogance prevents others from loving me, and Prejudice prevents me from loving others." The novel takes the love entanglement between the hero and heroine Darcy and Elizabeth due to pride and prejudice as the clue, writes four marriages, satirizes and criticizes people's stupidity, selfishness and money snobbery by means of comedy, and vividly reflects the world and human conditions of British township life in a conservative and closed state from the end of the 18th century to the beginning of the 19th century. In this novel, Austin shows the different attitudes of girls from middle-class families towards marriage and love through the different treatment of life events of Bennet's five daughters. "Marriage that only considers money is absurd, and marriage that does not consider money is stupid". This is the author's view on marriage. The marriage described in the article makes people understand that people's ignorance and ridicule at that time, It also shows people's selfishness incisively and vividly. Austin said through Elizabeth: "the more things I experience, the more dissatisfied I am with the world. The world is capricious, and that superficial merit or insight is very unreliable. Day after day, my faith is stronger." Show her dissatisfaction with society, expose the hypocrisy of people at that time and laugh at their stupidity.
