evil,but at heart was pure and good. This absurd picture reminds me of the Beautiful Legend of Sicily. The mysterious beauty Marlena was envied and excluded
by women in the small town because of her excessive beauty.Beauty is not a sin, selfish and ugly hearts are the original sin.
The strong religious atmosphere has left a deep imprint on people's thoughts and lives, and has caused the intricacies
of people's spiritual world for a long time, and the suppression of human nature has made the social environment
gloomy and gray.It seems to me, Hester. In spite of the appearance of evil, Prynne was pure and good in her heart.
Her sin was exposed to the sunlight, and she was despised by all. After her imprisonment had expired, she lived with
her children in a little hut on the outskirts of the town, even though Hester was isolated by many people and in a lonely
situation. Hester Prynne, who bore the disgrace, and earned her living by her own cunning needlework, though the
world had tattooed upon her the scarlet letter of guilt, had a natural strength of character and rare powers, so that the
world could not quite cast her off. Apart from her daily expenses, Prynne gave her surplus fortune, which she earned, to
the poor, and made rough garments for the poor for nothing. This beautiful woman was good, not only in the sense of
repentance, but as her way of expressing her passion for life.
After reading the book,I feel the love between Brandon and the priest Timmersdale is deeply rooted in the hearts of
the people, and the scarlet letter is a sin for them, a heavy shackle carried on for a lifetime. The scarlet letter "A" that
runs through the text begins as evil—adulterous, and then gradually evolves into good—angel Angel, as Hester has
