Carlton

Carlton is the most charming and complicated character in the book. He is decadent, passive and muddled through life. When he was in school, he only did homework for his classmates. After work, even though he had all his talents, he still chose to work in obscurity. However, under his indifferent appearance, I did not see that he had a deep feeling. He loved Lucy tenderly and persistently, and even was willing to sacrifice his life for Lucy. He showed us his deep love for Lucy: to exchange his life for the happiness of his beloved woman's family and her smile. No matter in any era, carton's love for Lucy is so precious and noble.
