Robinson’s Encourage

Dorothii

“My filial son, and abandoned parents, not the bounden duty of God to punish me so quickly, really fair and just. ”

“My father is willing to completely disregard, even defy fuming, totally did not listen to the mother and begged friends discouraged. I have this instinct, it seems doomed to a tragic fate of my future.”

“People in fear of how ridiculous ah! Any reason to provide them all the way to protect themselves, once the heart of fear prevailed, they will not know how to use these methods.”

“In particular, in this unfortunate situation, God guide me to know him, for his blessing, it gave me great comfort. This happy enough to compensate I have suffered and may suffer from all have more unfortunate.”

“That these things were all either too far above me, or too far below me; that mine was the middle state or what might be called the upper station of iow life, which he had found by long experience was the best state in the world. the most suited to human happiness , not exposed to the miseries and hardships, the labor and sufferings of the mechanic part of mankind and not embarrassed with the pride, luxury, ambition, and envy the upper part mankind .”

“But as abused prosperity is oftentimes made the very means of our greatest  adversity  so was it with me.”

“So I went to work: and here I must needs observe, that as reason is the substance and original of the mathematics, so by stating and squaring everything by reason and by making the most rational judgment of things, every man may be in time master of every mechanic art.”

This novel was inspired by a true story of the time when a Scottish sailor named Alexander Selkirk was abandoned by his captain in the Atlantic Ocean in September 1704 after a quarrel with him, and was rescued by Captain Woods Rogers after living on a deserted island for four years and four months. By then, Selkirk had forgotten the language of man and had become a savage. Inspired by this incident, Defoe conceived the story of Robinson. But in the process of writing the novel, Defoe shaped the image of Robinson from his own view and feeling of the times, with the adventurous and enterprising spirit of the rising bourgeoisie and the colonial spirit of the 18th century.

I think the British novelist Defoe's  Robinson Crusoe , in addition to the wonderful and bizarre story, the most attractive place to me is Robinson's character. He dares to take risks and pursue a free and unrestrained life. Even though he was stranded on a desert island, he never lost heart. And on the island, which was deserted and lacked the most basic living conditions, he was alone but overcame many difficulties that were unimaginable to ordinary people. With incredible perseverance and fortitude, he survived. With no house, he built himself, and no food, he tried to hunt, grow grain, raise goats and dried wild raisins, and he figured out how to make his own pottery and bread. He also saved a wild man and named him Friday. Under his education, Friday became a faithful friend. In this way, Robinson established his own material and spiritual kingdom on the desert island.

At the beginning of the story tells how Robinson was determined to leave his hometown despite the opposition of his family, leaving the original beautiful life. He escaped after being captured by pirates, developed his own estate in Brazil, and finally sailed to a desert island. In fact, when reading this part of the content, my heart is not too moved.

What really touched my heart was the change in Robinson's heart from misery to happiness in the process of exploring the desert island. After being stranded on the desert island, Robinson began lonely, and long life on the desert island. He overcame many difficulties, built himself a "castle", "pasture", "farm", and even built himself a nice "country house" to live a "rich" and "free" life on the island. The money Robinson carried on the island was completely useless, which made him understand that all the good things among us are not good if they are useless to us. In this isolated place of life, really can be regarded as money as dirt.

Through reading the  Bible  and long periods of solitary reflection, Robinson's mind became better and better. He began to be grateful for God's goodness, worked hard to improve his living conditions, and felt satisfied with his life on the island. It must be said that contentment is a good state of mind. One has to keep working and striving, but in the mindset of being content with what comes. One has to be content with what comes. Whenever you encounter something unpleasant, you can think about how lucky you are that you have not encountered greater misfortune. After Robinson was stranded on a deserted island, he did not just complain about his misfortune, but thought about how lucky he was to be the only survivor of the stormy disaster. Robinson attributed all this to God. In fact, we do not have to attribute to God, but we can also face life with a positive attitude. Besides complaining about God, besides complaining about our own misfortune, we can really think about the fact that there are many people who are more unfortunate than us, and compared to them, we are so lucky that we can even imagine some more unfortunate situations, and these unfortunate situations did not happen, how lucky we are.

I couldn't help but wonder if I were him, alone on a desert island, would I be as brave as he was? No, in the face of a sudden disaster, I can not like him to take the initiative to save myself. If the ship were wrecked in a storm, would I bow to fate and sail on, as he did? No, if I had the choice, I would not accept that life full of difficulties and setbacks, I do not have that confidence. If I had seen the savages feasting of their own kind, would I have stood up and fought them as bravely as he did? No, I'd rather stay out of sight and hope they never find me. I don't have the courage. I have to admit my ordinary and incompetent, I am far from his optimistic and positive, brave and noble attitude to life.

It is inevitable that we will encounter some difficulties in life, but as long as you are persevering, you can overcome them and survive. Only after experiencing great difficulties can we usher in the dawn of victory.

Robinson is like the embodiment of human progress, and his body concentrates the great spirit of all mankind's active and unceasing struggle.  Robinson Crusoe  is a microcosm of the history of human development, the eternal human spirit of aggressiveness and unceasing struggle. In today's modern society which is full of competition and challenges everywhere, these spirits have profound educational significance. In the face of adversity, people should be like Robinson, positive and optimistic. We need to see the reality with a grateful heart. We need to use our wisdom to move forward towards our dreams and struggle with difficulties. Using our own actions to show that human beings have the power to overcome the environment, transcend ourselves and create a brilliant life.
