In the first story, it tells a story that the author has participated in a campaign which need people to eat in an less cost. This is a special experience to the author. Through this experience, author has known the importance of saving food, and in many poor country, life is almost seen as difficulty. It also reflects, people in developed countries most don't know the importance of saving food, they need a campaign like this to call on the awareness. But in developing word, people in countries like China that have experienced famine are more aware of the value of food. In the second story, it describes a foreigner's life in Xiamen. In his more than twenty years life in Xiamen, William Brown has been learning the language, understanding the city and falling in love with it. This warm story reflects, every city has it's special, attractive culture, it's also a wonderful process to understand and feel the culture of a city.
