《老人与海》书评

After reading "The old Man and the Sea", I understand the true meaning of "the tip of the iceberg".The icebergs drift on the vast sea,magnificent,majestic and daunting,but one eighth of the surface of the corner contains seven eighth of magnificent beauty. On the face of the words,this book is a story about Santiago how to fight aginst the sharks,but when you read deeper,you will find that this book is about the dignity and soul of the old man.Santiago is the symbol of "the hero of life".He dared to declare war on the tribulations of life,to challenge the limits of human life,with life for honour and dignity,from an unprecedented angle to show people the value of human life.Although his weapons were oars,club and harpoon,he still defeated the sharks. At the end of the book,it says that Santiago was so small at sea that the people on the planes could not find him.Man and nature,how small human beings are,however,Santiago'spirit is great,his spirit of struggling with nature and life is showed in the process of fighting with the sharks.As the books says:a man is not born to be defeated,a man can be destroyed,but not defeated.Santiago'spirit can not be defeated!
