Book review
The book "The Old Man and the Sea" mainly tells the story of a fisherman, an old man, who drifted on the sea for 82 days without returning. He fought fiercely with sharks and sardines, but the sardines caught by the old man had only bones left. When he returned to the harbor, he was praised by people.
The old man in the book was discriminated against by many people, but he was never angry. He just faced everything calmly, without fear or retreat. He fought against the old shark. In the harsh environment, he was not afraid, and he never thought of waiting for death. He just calmly and calmly faced the danger and never gave up.
What struck me most in this book was this scene. He caught a marlin, and the fish dragged the boat to the sea, but he still clung to it. Even if he had no food, weapons, help and cramped his left hand, he was not gray at all. After two days and two nights of fighting, he finally conquered the monster. Unexpectedly, just as we were about to drag the fish back, a batch of sharks were attracted by the fish dragged at the stern and scrambled to eat the fish. Exhausted, though struggling with sharks, the fish can't escape the fate of being eaten up. Finally, slowly drag it back to the auxiliary fish rack. When he got home, he was lying in bed, so he had to go back to his beautiful old age from his dream to forget the cruelty of reality. The strength of the old man is not enough to compete with nature, but he persists in his struggle, regardless of the result.
After reading this book, I understand a lot of truth. First, life can't be smooth sailing, just like Santiago will encounter all kinds of difficulties in the process of fishing. But even so, we must face the difficulties and meet the challenges bravely. Secondly, there is a big gap between the ideal and the reality, and our dreams are always out of reach. But,we should also be full of confidence in the future. As a famous saying goes, successful people often change their methods without changing their goals. We believe in ourselves, forge ahead, and our dreams will finally come true.
