My expression
袁静
In short, this is a "vulgar" but profound story. First,
"It is not evil thoughts that lead people astray, but the desire
for better things." Carrie seized every opportunity to work,
whether as a factory worker or as an occasional stage performer, or
later as a light comedy star. She clearly recognized her predicament and
found a way out of it. Second, Carrie yearned for the life of the rich,
but she always felt sympathy for the reality that the road was frozen to
death. At the end of the book, Carrie no longer focuses on the behavior
and dress of people on Broadway, because it is no longer a world of
flowers that attracts her, but more tranquility and beauty, which are
two shining qualities that ordinary people cannot reach.
