Priceless spiritual weath

“But man is not made for defeat，a man can be destroyed but not defeated ”.This is one of my favorite quotes .This is also Ernest Miller Hemingway's high summary of the tough guy spirit.He has always been known as a tough guy in the literary world. I don’t think there’s any value in coming back with an empty skeleton.The important gain is not material but more spiritual satisfaction.The old man’s original purpose was to fish for a living.On the surface. he really got nothing, because he didn’t catch a fish.But in the process of going out to sea, he also gained a lot.Although it is not material, it is more spiritual satisfacation. In the first fishing life,the old fisherman took the child fishing. Even if they got nothing ,they still don’t give up.This reflects the indomitable spirit of struggle.After the child was taken away by his parents,the old fisherman didn't give up,believing that he could catch a big fish.He was not afraid of loneliness.Later,when he was alone,he met a marlin bigger than the boat,which also inspired his fighting spirit.He must catch this fish and prove himself.After two days of fierce struggle,even though the old man was injured, he didit give up.In the end.,he caught the big fish, but becaue the big fish was injured, it attracted sharks, and the fish was eaten by sharks. At last, there was only a fish skeleton left when he went back.This fully reflects the tough guy imaged of the old man. This is Hemingway's, too. They all the tough guy. The feelings expressed in the story are also attached to Hemingway’s own thoughts. In the story, the old fisherman overcomes his loneliness and confusion, pursues his own goal, fights against the big fish,exert his fearless,fighting spirit.He is not afraid of life and death,and is full of hope for the future,even if he fails to achieve the expected results. Hemingway Is, ake like the old man. Hemingway is also like the old man.Hemingway was aggressive and competitive when he was young.He didn’t lose hope when he entered middle age.The reflection of the old man Santiago,Quality is What Hemingway appreciates most . Hemingway not only describe the old man strong will,and spent a lot of space to describe the old man's inner world,that is, direction of sincere friendship and beautiful things in the world.And this part is the most wonderful part of the novel.The only friend of the old man is the little boy. They love each other and take care of each other. When the old man was fishing, he called the little boy's name several times, which proved that the little boy could give the old man confidence and strength. Besides, the home in the old man's heart is the sea, where he can find friendship and deep love. The old man loves the sea. He regards the sea as a kind and beautiful woman. He regards birds, fish and sea breeze as his friends. So，this fish skeleton is the result of his struggle, which shows his indomitable spirit and perseveres in his struggle. He overcomes loneliness to persist in his faith. His spirit and experience also educated the child and made him a tough guy. It also makes him full of hope for the future.
