book review
Although this book tells a story of revenge, the scenes it depicts are heartbreaking. Heathcliff's revenge and Catherine's initial decision were not determined by the simple character. As two people of different origins and genders, in which era background, neither of them was wrong. At first, when Catherine married Linton, I thought she was just vain and found a reason for Heathcliff to revenge her brother. But with the deepening of the story, I understand that she really had to do so at that time. At that time, women were of low status. She loved Heathcliff. It was true that she wanted to marry a rich man to help him fight back against her brother. Of course, it was also for his own sake. But what she did not expect was that the status of origin in the world would not change. So even if Heathcliff returned home, he was treated unfairly. This made his hatred for Linton become irrational. After all kinds of revenge, the beast of desire finally found that it was meaningless to do so.
This is a tragedy, a tragedy of an era. Between their isolated villa, the heaven with infinite life, infinite love, infinite joy and even the hell with dogs overflowing and gods spitting became the place and heaven that all people in the family yearned for. The characters are full of tragic color, which leads to the fact that everyone is not satisfied. In my opinion, it is because of the character shortcomings of the characters themselves. It seems to make people reflect on whether we can do better if we are ourselves
Around the love story between Heathcliff, the hero, and Catherine, the heroine, when I read it, I thought they did not love each other, but were paranoid. If love makes you sad and brings misfortune to people around you, why not bless each other. Have strong feelings, but have to live in depression; I yearn for the freedom of life, but finally I am upset by the suffering of life.
From the day Heathcliff was brought back by Mr. Shawn, Wuthering Heights has really followed his name and never stopped whistling. In my opinion, this "Wuthering" represents Catherine's regret for Heathcliff's undying love, all the suffering and torture brought to him by the marriage of two families, and the hatred rooted in her heart It is Hareton's indignation and indignation that he has to be his servant while staying at his home, it is little Cathy's helplessness and gloom that he feels when he enters the trap of Linton and Heathcliff, and it is the expression and threat of love and hatred between all the people who are enveloped in hatred between the two villa. Heathcliff, the hero, has deep love and hate, feelings and worries. His love is intense and his hate is penetrating. It was the deep hatred that made him crazy and wild, and it was also the deep hatred that made him forget the source of the hatred that made him forget what kind of life they had created. In the end, Heathcliff ended his hatred and helplessness by going on hunger strike. From the beginning to the end, we never knew Heathcliff's real birth identity, whether it was Catherine or Earnshaw or Linton in Wuthering Heights, or whether those children gave him such a outlook on life, or whether his birth situation made him have such a concept. The courage to love and hate is worthy of praise, and these unknown love and hate make people around you crazy and turn themselves into their most annoying appearance. Until death is also the appearance of the devil, which has to make people feel sad and reflect..
