Pride and Prejudice
Pride and Prejudice is a story about four marriages that took place in England in the eighteen century. The main one, of cource, is the love and hate between the heroine Elizabeth Bennet and the actor Fitzwilliam Darcy. Elizabeth is a heart—seeking smart, strong and love middle—class women. Darcy, though haughty, was a gentleman of the highest degree. The story is chiefly traced by her aversion to Mr.Darcy, from the first to respect, and then to admiration, and by several happy or unhappy marriages which took place at her side. It reveals the author's dream and expectation to women's life and feelings in that era.
Darcy stands for "Pride" and Elizabeth for "Prejudice", at the beginning, they are drawn by their own emotions. Darcy didn't change his pride to please Elizabeth ,and Elizabeth also showed a very real self ,and each other didn't deliberately create an impression, showing the truest side. At the beginning, Elizabeth always lived under the prejudice of herself, and neglected to think about the truth of facts. Only after Darcy's explanation and self—judgment did she finally find a happy life.
From this book, we can understand that the first impressionn given by a person can affect many things, but it dosen't have to remain unchanged. It requires a deeper understanding to be more objective. Just like Elizabeth's view of Darcy in the story, it is because of understanding that she has changed. This makes me deeply feel that understanding of people can not be too one-sided, and only after understanding can I deeply understand a person.
