Jane Eyre
Actually, I’ve read this book when I was in primary school. But that version was a simple and starter one. I was astonished at Jane’s bravery and selflessness at that time. Now as I grow older, I read the English version and understand more about this story.
Jane Eyre is written by British novelist Charlotte Brontë ，which is an novel with autobiographic flavor. The work tells a tale about a British woman——Jane Eyre, who has been an orphan from an early age, pursuing self-value and freedom in her life and finally gains her happiness. It also expresses a desire for the advancement of women’s status and dares to pursue freedom and equality.
Jane Eyre has lots of valuable characters, which expresses me most is her confidence and bravery. She loses her parents at a young age and lives in her aunt’s home. The family don’t like her and her cousins even bully her and put her in a dark room. Finally they send her to a school and never care about her. She grows up in here doggedly and make friends like Helen and Betty. She learns a lot when she is in there. Then she becomes a governess in Mr. Rochester’s home and falls in love with Rochester. However , just when two people held the wedding, Jane learns that the master actually has a wife, who is a lunatic locking in her daily life in the castle.
So, she leaves sadly and desperately. Once when she is close to dead, she’s saved by a brother and his three sisters. She decides to stay here and becomes a humble temporary school teacher, and the eldest brother of three siblings finds her secret, they turn out to be cousins, and get a dead relatives of a large legacy. Having find her relatives and wealth, Jane still misses Mr. Rochester and determines to find him. However, the castle has been destroyed for a fire and Mr. Rochester became a blind. So Jane returns to the single, no shackles of Mr. Rochester, two people begin a happy life.
It is the plot brief of Jane Eyre, the book not only tells us how to love, how to be thankful, but also teaches us how to be a brave, kind and confident person. Although Jane is only 19 at that time, she is brave enough to be responsible for what she has done. Her pride and strong is valuable.
The relationship between Mr. Rochester and Jane is winding. As a employee at Mr. Rochester’s home, Jane feels at ease and begins to be curious about the host in this castle. Mr. Rochester is also love at first sight to Jane Eyre. Although Jane Eyre is not beautiful, she is pure, sincere, thinking, stubborn and strong. The special girl attracts Mr. Rochester deeply. Although Mr. Rochester is 20 years older than Jane Eyre, and their status and wealth also has big differences, they overcome these difficulties and fall in love with each other at lsat. However, something strange often happens in the castle, when it comes to truth, it is the climax of the story.
The most impressive plot is when they are going to be married, Jane finds the lunatic wife in the castle. Mr. Rochester has treated her and she gets angry and disappointed very much. However, when Mr. Rochester tells about his sad childhood, his unfortunate marriage with the lunatic wife, although Jane feels sad and wonky, she still sticks to herself and maintain her line and dignity. Facing Mr. Rochester’s heated love, sincere confession and retention, she still leaves him and begins a harder life on her own. "I will obey God's laws," she says. "I will hold fast to the principles I accepted in my waking moments when I was not as mad as I am now." But from the heart, a deeper layer is Jane Eyre realizes that he is deceived, her self-esteem is teased, because she loves Rochester. But Jane Eyre makes a very rational decision. Surrounded by such a power of love, under the temptation of a rich life, she still insists on her dignity as an individual, which is the most spiritual charm of Jane Eyre.
The story is a happy ending, but the plot teaches us a lot. It promotes the spirit of female independence and the courage to pursue love and equality. It is not easy for most women at that era. But Jane does it, she wins self-esteem, love, equality, confidence and wealth. Her appearance is not beautiful but her incentre is strong and attractive.
In today's society, people are crazy for money and status to drown out love. Choosing between poor and rich, or between love and not love. Few people will like Jane Eyre for love for personality to abandon all, and no hesitation. "Jane Eyre" shows us a return to simplicity, is a pursuit of whole-hearted love, and as a person should be dignity. It is like a glass of ice water, purify everyone's mind.
